MyOPD was last updated on 20th February. Exactly 2 months later, on 21st April, we released yet another awesome release. The 2 months wait for our Doctors was a tad longer, however, the wait was worth it, we think.

At MyOPD, we plan to help you make aware of net neutrality issue by introducing you to the concept with the help of certain real life examples.

Here is the first one in this series:

  1. You do a search (Google or Bing or Yahoo)
  2. Results show up in the search results
  3. You click a link to one of the website from the search results
  4. Your internet provider shows you a message like – “Sorry, your internet plan does not allow you to view this website”

Which side are you ON?

If you think this is wrong, you are supporting Net Neutrality. If you think it’s okay to slice internet like the way we pay for TV channel packages, you are against it.

If you are supporting Net Neutrality, spend couple of mintues to let Telecom Regulatory Authority Of India (TRAI) know about it. Just visit www.savetheinternet.in and let TRAI know that you don’t want your freedom of visiting any site on the internet to be taken away.

Tracking Outstanding Amount in Clinic

The other day we were talking to one of our Doctors. He was relieved that MyOPD allowed him to track outstanding amounts related to patients. In an OPD, exact change is one of the practical issues Doctors and Patients face.

Suppose you are a Paediatrician and have administered a vaccination to your patient. Total amount is Rs. 2000. Unfortunately, the client has Rs. 1500 only. MyOPD allows you to accept Rs. 1500 and keep a track of the remaining Rs. 500. It shows you the balance amount the next time this patient visits.

Let us see with an analogy of the car market in India. Maruti Suzuki is one of the most trusted car brands in India. The prime reason for that is their after sales support. A frantic call from Dr. Manoj Katariya, one of our client set the tone for the day.  Dr. Katariya’s computer was refusing to start. Dr. Katariya was worried about his practice data. Rightly so, he had just finished entering around 5000+ patients and multiple visits in them. The computer was shown to the hardware vendor. The guy recommended a format. Rarely have I seen guys troubleshooting the system and resolving an issue without a format. Format seems to be the easiest way out to fix a problem.
